PDEA seizes P2.4M marijuana, nabs 2 in Tarlac City

TARLAC CITY – Agents of PDEA Tarlac seized over the weekend bricks of dried marijuana amounting to P2,400,000 and arrested two drug suspects in a drug sting late Sunday night.

PDEA Central Luzon Director Christian O Frivaldo identified the arrested suspects as: Julius Castro y Maynete, 24 years old, single, massage therapist, resident of Hilario St. Brgy. Ligtasan, Tarlac City, Tarlac; and John David Tapar y Ibale, 28 years old, married, Driver,  resident of 3712 Karina Street, Brgy San Sebastian Tarlac City,Tarlac

Frivaldo said that PDEA agents secured a drug deal with the suspects and immediately collared them after transaction was completed.

The operation yielded 20 bricks of suspected dried marijuana leaves weighing more or less 20 kgs with an estimated street value of P2.4 million; one unit Keypad cellphone; buy-bust money; and one unit Ford Ranger.

Charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against the arrested suspects.
