Porac cops collar suspected drug pusher

Intensified operations against drugs in Porac town in Pampanga led to the arrest of another suspect involved in the illegal trade.

Supt. Mauro Taytay, police chief of Porac, presented on Monday the arrested suspect identified as Ellie O. Due, a resident of Barangay Pangpang, Angeles City, to Mayor Condralito dela Cruz.

Due, who uses the alias “Damulag”, was cornered during a buy-bust operation on July 21 in Barangay Sta. Cruz of the said town.

According to police records, the 32-year-old suspect sold one sachet of suspected shabu concealed in a bottle of soda in exchange for P500 in marked money.

A body search on Due yielded three other sachets of the suspected drugs and the P500 marked money with serial number PQ323351.

Mayor Dela Cruz said local, barangay and police officials here have strengthened their campaign against drugs in response to the call of President Rodrigo Duterte to stamp out the illegal drugs trade.

“We are serious in our advocacy to make our town drug-free,” Dela Cruz said.

Last week, more than 10,000 drug pushers and users in Pampanga voluntarily surrendered to authorities and pledged to veer away from selling or using illicit substances. – Albert Lacanlale
