PR Congress gets underway

The Philippines’ leading PR practitioners gathered in Manila for a two-day congress that highlights best practices of local brands that penetrate the global market.

Global Speaks 2016, this year’s theme in the 23rd PR Congress at Resorts World Manila, got underway with a challenge to PR and communications experts to harness the power of traditional and new media. The event is organized by Public Relations Society of the Philippines.

Harold Geronimo, Event Chairman and PRSP vice president, said that PR professionals face the challenge “to effectively maximize traditional and new media to propagate desired brand messaging and reach appropriate audience.”

“Local brands (which) envision themselves to become global brands someday must be willing to take the challenge of the evolving trends in PR and communications,” said Geronimo who also heads the Communications Group of Megaworld.

Among the brands that are featured in the PR congress are ABS CBN Digital Media, Summit Publishing, CNN Philippines, Gawad Kalinga, Resorts World Manila.

An annual event of the PRSP, the PR Congress is attended by PR practitioners and communications experts in top corporations from the private and government sector.

Among those in attendance are renowned PR leaders Charlie Agatep, Max Edralin, Bong Osorio, Toby Nebrida, PRSP President Ron Jabal and others.
