Samal Mayor Aida D. Macalinao leads the groundbreaking rites of Aksyon Malasakit village housing project in Barangay San Juan, Samal, Bataan, last Thursday.
Bataan 1st District Rep. Geraldine Roman graced the event and was joined by Vice Governor Jun Espino, village officials, businessman Alex Acuzar, newsmen and future residents of the said project.
The initial 1,000 units will be built in 18 months construction period with more than 800 initial beneficiaries.
In her speech, Mayor Macalinao said since the area is far from the municipality’s main road, a material recovery facility or MRF will be built along with its own school and an area for the LGUs livelihood program for its residents.
Meanwhile, Congresswoman Roman expressed her full support in all of Mayor Macalinao’s vision for the town’s progress, sustainable livelihood projects, jobs generation and health programs for its residents.
Recently, Rep. Roman allotted P30 million as additional funds for the ongoing construction of the town’s new municipal hall.
