SBMA eyes more Taiwanese tourists

SUBIC BAY FREEPORT — With the launching of Clark-Taipei flights, Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) expects more Taiwanese tourists here.

This, SBMA Chair and Administrator Wilma Eisma said, as she welcomed Taiwanese bloggers who went to see various destinations inside this freeport zone for promotion in Taipei.

“We have been blessed with many tourist attractions and we want to use every possible means to entice visitors to come and enjoy Subic,” Eisma said.

She added that having bloggers experience first-hand the beauty of Subic and hospitality of its people is one giant step in conveying the Freeport’s invitation to the people of Taiwan and to consider it as one of their stops.

Department of Tourism records showed that Taiwan is the sixth biggest source of tourists in the Philippines with about 60,000 arrivals from January to March 2018.

Last July 12, 2018 Clark-Taipei flight of the Philippines Air Asia commenced in Clark International Airport. A visa-free was also extended until July 31, 2019 for Pinoys who wished to tour around Taiwan.
