Sinagtala Troopers join barangay’s milestone celebration

MARIA AURORA, Aurora – In a show of unity and service, Barangay San Juan celebrated its 53rd Founding Anniversary and 1st Farmers’ Day on June 24, 2025, with the theme “Kapit-Bisig sa Progreso: Barangay San Juan sa Makabagong Henerasyon.”

Held at the Barangay San Juan Covered Court, the event gathered local officials, uniformed personnel, and residents to honor the barangay’s legacy and its farmers’ crucial role in food security and rural development.

A highlight of the celebration was the participation of the Charlie Company, 91st Infantry “Sinagtala” Battalion, 7th Infantry (Kaugnay) Division, Philippine Army. Led by Captain Zamzamyn K. Dimasidsing and Staff Sergeant Mark Anthony M. Manalang, the troops provided event security and offered free haircut services to residents—reflecting their ongoing commitment to community welfare and peacebuilding.

The day-long program was spearheaded by Maria Aurora Mayor Ariel S. Bitong, supported by the Philippine National Police (PNP), the Maria Aurora Skill Development Center (MASDC), and various national and local agencies through a Serbisyo Caravan, which brought essential health, livelihood, and social services directly to the people.

“This celebration is more than a milestone—it reaffirms our shared duty to pursue progress and honor our everyday heroes, especially our farmers,” said one municipal official during the program.

The Sinagtala Troopers’ involvement reflected the “whole-of-nation” approach, emphasizing that the Army’s mission includes supporting local development and resilience—not just national defense.

As Barangay San Juan looked back on five decades of progress, the event stood as a testament to bayanihan, public service, and hope for a stronger, unified future.
