SM Marilao provides relief goods to Maring flood victims

SM City Marilao sen​t​ its volunteers to flooded areas in Marilao to provide immediate relief to thousands of families affected by tropical depression “Maring”.

Bringing to life the spirit of Bayanihan, SM City Marilao Volunteers in partnership with the local government brought relief goods to flooded areas in Marilao, Bulacan.

A total of 1,500 bags of relief goods were distributed during the SM Foundation Inc.’s Operation Tulong Express in Bulacan. Relief goods are all packed up in eco-bags to encourage beneficiaries on sustainable living by recycling and reducing waste.

Through SM Foundation Inc.’s Operation Tulong Express program, around 1,500 families were given relief packs or “kalinga packs”. These ‘kalinga’ packs contain a kilo of rice, canned sardines, and instant noodles as well as bottled waters all packed up in an eco-bag.

Operation Tulong Express (OPTE) is SM Foundation’s emergency response to victims of natural calamities and disasters. Its implementation include close coordination with Savemore and Hypermarket, Mall Administration employees and volunteers that include the mall’s Customer Relations Service (CRS) team as well as Local Government Unit.
