13 street pushers nabbed in Mabalacat

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – Police authorities rounded –up Thursday 13 suspected illegal drugs street pushers during simultaneous raids in separate places in Mabalacat City as part of the city government intensified campaign against prohibited substance.

Mabalacat City Mayor Marino “Boking” Morales said unlike in other parts of the country where drug suspects are felled, here in our city we made sure that it will be a bloodless way of combating the so-called menace of society.

“We value life, the city government is pursuing the bloodless drive against persons involved in illegal drugs, said Morales in a statement.

Scores have been arrested by the local police in Mabalacat City since Morales directed police authorities to launch aggressive operations against the prohibited substance.

Senior Inspector Melvin Florida, Jr., of the Drug Enforcement Unit, vowed to sustain the anti-illegal drugs operations as he expressed optimism that the government will win the war on drugs with the help of local government and the communities.

“One hundred percent ang suporta sa amin ni mayor at nang mga komunidad kaya naman tiwala kami na mauubos namin ang mga drug pusher sa aming lugar,” said Florida.

Mayor Morales is immediately informed on the results of the police campaign on drugs every week, said Florida.

On Thursday, all the 13 suspects were presented to Moirales for counselling. The mayor appealed for them to join the bandwagon of ‘reformists’ who have been successful in getting away from illegal drugs and became productive citizens.

“The government is more than willing to help you reform and become productive citizens. Hindi lamang kayo ang maghihirap kundi pati ang pamilya n’yo kapag hindi kayo magbago,” Morales pointed out.
