14 killed, 63 arrested in Bulacan anti-crime drive

Fourteen suspects were killed while 63 others were arrested in Bulacan Police Simultaneous Anti-Criminality Law Enforcement Operation (SACLEO) drive conducted since Wednesday.

Eight of the slain suspects were drug pushers, four robbery suspects and two motorcycle thieves.

Bulacan Police acting director Senior Supt. Chito Bersaluna said that alias “Biboy” and one unidentified suspect died in a buy-bust operation conducted by San Rafael Police at around 10pm on Thursday in Brgy. Paco, San Rafael, Bulacan.

The suspect and his unidentified cohort were killed after trading shots with operatives.

Recovered from the scene are one cal. 45 pistol and one cal. 45 Colt pistol and one red/blue Honda CB125 motorized tricycle.

The other slain drug suspects were identified as Eugenio Tan; Alden Gerobeise, a certain Ogag; Alias Keng-keng; Mark Chester Manalang alias Amang and Dexter Dispo who all resisted arrest by firing their guns at arresting police operatives in buy-bust operations conducted on Wednesday in the town of Sta Maria, Malolos, Pulilan, Obando, Baliwag, and Hagonoy respectively.

Recovered from them were four .38 caliber guns and undetermined plastic sachets of suspected “shabu”.

Bersaluna said that four robbers figured in a heist at a convenient store in San Rafael town carting away cash, valuables, grocery items and escaped on board a silver Toyota sedan with license plate AHA 2151. The suspects opted to shoot it out when police operatives spotted them while the other robbers tried to break in at a residential house in Barangay Bulihan in Malolos and fired their guns at responding police operatives.

The slain robbers are yet to be identified and recovered from them were two caliber. 45 pistols, two .38 caliber revolvers, nine plastic sachets of suspected dried marijuana leaves and stolen items.

The two motorcycle thieves were identified only as a certain “Bogart” and an alias “Albina.”

He added the two tried to sell a stolen motorcycle for P35,000 in Graceville 1 Subdivision, Barangay Muzon in the City of San Jose del Monte. Suspects fired their guns at police operatives when they sensed the entrapment operations laid against them. Recovered were guns and stolen motorcycle.

It was learned that on Wednesday and Thursday, a total of 63 suspects including two minors and an SK Kagawad were also apprehended in the towns of Plaridel, Balagtas, Pandi, San Ildefonso, Calumpit, Bocaue and the City of San Jose Del Monte, San Miguel, Baliuag, Hagonoy, Paombong, DRT, San Rafael, Bustos, Norzagaray and Angat for different criminal offense.
