186 hired on-the-spot in Subic Jobs Fair

SUBIC BAY FREEPORT ZONE — About 186 applicants were hired on-the-spot (HOTS) during the jobs fair in Subic.

Department of Labor and Employment Regional Director Zenaida Angara-Campita said 4,500 job seekers attended the fair wherein half were displaced Hanjin Heavy Industries & Construction Co. Ltd. workers.

“Among the HOTS, 99 were Hanjin workers and another 52 percent of Hanjin applicants were shortlisted as nearly-hires,” Angara-Campita added.

The caravan dubbed as “Build, Build, Build = Jobs, Jobs, Jobs” caravan was participated by 98 private companies offering at least 25,000 careers.

These can be accessed at the Build, Build, Build Philippine Infrastructure Transparency Portal.

Available job posts are likewise open for skilled technicians, engineers, and administrative staff.

This one-day event was in partnership with the Department of Public Works and Highways, Department of Transportation, Department of Finance, Department of Budget and Management , Department of Trade and Industry, Bases Conversion and Development Authority, and National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA).

PhilHealth, Home Development Mutual Fund or Pag-IBIG, and Social Security System also provided pre-employment services.
