221 students join 5th National Letter Writing Day in Tarlac

Some 221 students from the Tarlac National High School (TNHS) have joined the 5th National Letter Writing Day on Monday.

The winner will represent the country in the Universal Postal Union (UPU) International Letter Writing Competition for Young People (ILWC) in Switzerland. The said event was held at the Lower Ground Level of SM City Tarlac.

Mr. Bernardito V. Gonzales, PHLPost Area Director, Mr. Al B. Robles, PHLPost Marketing Specialist III handed over a certificate of participation to the faculty of Tarlac National High School headed by Ms.Arlene Quiani.

Every year the Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost), supported by the Department of Education, had been actively organizing the Letter Writing Contest.

The participants had been welcomed by Ms. Michelle Charlene Chua, SM City Tarlac assistant mall manager; Ms. Arlene Quiani, Head Teacher at Tarlac National High School and Mr. Bernardito V. Gonzales, PHLPost Northwest Luzon area director. The participants will delve on the theme,”If you will be a counselor of the new United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres, which world issue would you help him tackle first and how would you advise him to solve it?” It should be composed in a form of a letter written in Filipino.

Participating students are very focused on composing their entry letters for the 5th National Writing Day.

Aside from SM City Tarlac, the letter writing event was also held in other SM Malls like SM City Cabanatuan, SM City North Edsa, SM City San Pablo, SM Seaside City Cebu, SM City Iloilo, and SM City Davao.

The three winners will receive certificates, medals and tokens.
