BALANGA CITY – Local officials of Bataan led by Vice Governor Cris Garcia and Bataan 2nd District Rep. Jopet Garcia on Wednesday afternoon opened the 34th Malasakit Center in the country at the compound of Bataan General Hospital and Medical Center here.
Presidential Assistant for the Visayas Secretary Michael Dino personally led the opening of the Malasakit Center and shared the relevance of the program to the people of Bataan.
Sec. Dino were joined by Bataan Mayors Gila Garcia, Francis Garcia, Antonio L. Jr. Raymundo, Ace Jello Concepcion, Jopet Inton, MBDA GM Charlie Pizarro, former Bataan Rep. Herminia Roman and other local leaders, BGH officials led by Dr. Ria Baltazar.
Malasakit Center is a one-stop shop housing all concerned government agencies such as the Department of Health, Department of Social Welfare and Development, Pagcor, Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) and PhilHealth to make it easier and faster for poor and disadvantaged patients to avail themselves of medical and financial assistance from the government.
The project was initiated by former Secretary and Special Assitant to the President Christopher “Bong” Go, and supported by the Office of the Presidential Assistant for the Visayas where Sec. Dino is designated as the head.
