Ombudsman readies charges vs. Romualdez, Gonzales

The Office of the Ombudsman is preparing charges against former House Speaker Martin Romualdez and former Senior Deputy Speaker Aurelio “Dong” Gonzales Jr. over alleged kickbacks tied to purported ghost flood control projects, Ombudsman Jesus Crispin Remulla said Friday. Remulla confirmed the cases are being readied as investigators gather evidence. The allegations have yet to be tested in court, and no formal charges have been filed as of Friday.
