Officials of the Department of Tourism’s (DOT) regional office have hailed the Clark Freeport as the best and most friendly biking area following the success of the recent Bike Tour 2016 held on July 30.
After the resounding success of the Bike Tour, DOT Regional Director Ronaldo Tiotuico said they fully intend to promote the various sites in the Clark Freeport Zone through the use of bicycles.
“People want to engage in adventurous activities. Activities that people can put their hands on. We can create sustainable tourism by having tourists pedaling to different destinations,” said Tiotuico.
Tiotuico said he hopes that Clark Development Corporation (CDC) can look into the possibility of reviving the bike lanes in as much as biking not only benefits people’s health but also the environment and ecosystem.
More than 700 participants in the Bike Tour 2016 were able to explore 15 tourist destinations in the Freeport. These included SM City Clark, The Medical City, Air Force City, El Kabayo Stable, Green Canyon at the Sacabia Hills, The Villages (Global Clark), Nayong Pilipino Clark, Midori Hotel and Casino, Fontana Hot Springs and Leisure Park, The soon-to-open Quest Hotel, Clark Museum, Parade Grounds, Giada’s Restaurant at Berthaphil 3, Royce Hotel and Casino, Hotel Stotsenberg, Puregold Duty Free Store, and Prothrowback.
