TARLAC CITY — The provincial government of Tarlac has upgraded its hospitals and facilities that will cater to COVID-19 cases.
Governor Susan Yap said Tarlac’s very own and already operational Molecular Laboratory Biosafety Level 2+ (BSL2+) can accommodate up to 180 swab samples.
“Our Tarlac Molecular Laboratory BSL2+, which now accepts polymerase chain reaction swab and rapid test samples, is one of the highest in the country. We are now able to test our own swab samples with a turn-around time of 48 to 72 hours for the test results,” she said.
Moreover, Yap mentioned the five government hospitals dedicated for COVID-19 cases ranging from asymptomatic, mild, moderate and severe.
“We recently opened another quarantine facility in one of our district hospitals in the province—Concepcion District Hospital—to cater mild and moderate cases,” the governor explained.
This is in addition to the existing hospitals and facilities dedicated for COVID-19 which include Tarlac Provincial Hospital for severe and critical cases; Enrique Henry M. Cojuangco Memorial District Hospital in Moncada and La Paz Medicare and Community Hospital for mild and moderate cases.
Also, the National Government Administrative Center in New Clark City (NCC) for asymptomatic patients; and another 200-bed capacity quarantine facility in NCC for those who are waiting for their results.
