Public utility firms are expected to dispense quality public service. This is their mandate. Included in this group are private firms which deal with the public, such as Village Water Services Supply based in Fiesta Communities, Tabun.
Village Water Services Supply is expected by residents of this subdivision to provide them quality water supply but it falls very short of their expectation.
Oftentimes, it has water service interruptions which last minimum of four hours which deprive residents of clean water supply. Worse, when it conducts flushing activities, water flowing out of the taps of households is muddy, dirty and smelly. Such is the sorry state of the water service at Fiesta Communities.
Then comes another poor service provider. The Pampanga Electric Copperative or PELCO II. It does not take to heart the welfare of consumers not only from Fiesta Communities but residents in its area of jurisdiction. Sometimes, it announces in advance its service interruptions but there are times when it interrupts its service at night when residents view their favorite programs on television. Such disservice indeed!
Regulators such as the Energy Regulatory Commission and the National Water Resources Board should regulate strictly these abovementioned firms. They should impose sanctions for the poor service they dispense to their respective consumers or concessionaires. There is no other way to make these firms toe the line, so to speak, but to penalize them for their infractions.

HOA activities. The incumbent President of Fiesta Communities Tabun is Alfredo S. Ramos, a hardworking man who led in the mopping up of the area (some 192 hectares) occupied by Unity Realty Development Corporation, also in Tabun. This area, fringing Mapagmahal Street, Fiesta is oftentimes the site of conflagrations which threaten houses along Mapagmahal Street which shares boundary with the Unity property.
With the help of Barangay officials led by Punong Barangay Danilo de Leon, President Ramos, HOA Vice President Dennis dela Cruz, BODs Rod Monis, Jess del Rosario and this writer, oversaw the mop[ing up work aided by a payloader courtesy of former barangay chairman, now city councilor Jerry P. Magsino who was also there to assist.
Previousl, President Ramos guided a team from PELCO II which installed a transformer in order to prevent frequent brownouts at Phase 2, Fiesta Communities.
