Bataan youth group joins Earth Day mangrove planting

The Young Bataenos Environmental Advocacy Network (Young BEAN) and a fishermen’s group have planted mangrove trees along the coastal areas of Orion and Limay.

This youth organization is composed of budding environmentalists. Jochelle Magracia, the group’s leader, said their mangrove planting project apart from Earth Day celebration, is also a continuing advocacy against pollution.

The group planted 500 mangrove trees in Orion and 250 in Limay and was participated in by 60 young men and women from different municipalities of Bataan.

“This is to send messages to the public to protect and restore the seas as source of food and livelihood,” Magracia told Bataan newsmen.
