The Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Japanese corporations to develop key features of the planned Clark Green City, one of the agency’s flagship projects, as part of President Rodrigo Duterte’s state visit to Japan.
The partnership allows Japanese companies Hitachi Asia Ltd. and The Power Grid Solution Ltd. to conduct feasibility studies for the Clark Green City, specifically for establishing an energy management system, an energy storage system, a district cooling system, and a total energy network system through the establishment of a private utility company.
The MOU was signed on Wednesday, October 26.
The feasibility studies are estimated to cost approximately PhP10 Million, and are expected to be finished within a period of six months.
According to BCDA, the partnerships with the Japanese companies underscore the continuing ties between the Philippines and Japan. BCDA also sees the partnerships as further bolstering the current administration’s vision to sustain the country’s growth through more infrastructure and economic projects.
