PLANO ng Commission on Higher Education (CHED) na magtayo ng mga Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light (HWPL) peace monuments sa 25 state universities sa bansa.
Sa panayam kay John Rommel Garces, Chief Manager ng HWPL Philippines, sinabi nito na inanunsiyo ni CHED Commissioner Dr. Ronald L. Adamat ang planong magtayo ng peace monuments sa mga state universities sa bansa sa kaniyang talumpati sa ginanap na unveiling ceremony ng unang HWPL peace monument sa Region 4-A na itinayo sa Siniloan Integrated National High School (SINHS) sa Siniloan, Laguna nitong nakaraang Pebrero 21, 2022.
Ang peace monuments project ay inisyatibo ng international Non-Government Organization na Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light (HWPL) sa pakikipagtulungan ng partner schools, organizations at mga communities sa Pilipinas na lumagda ng partnership for peace education to secure sustainable peace.
Ayon kay Garces kasabay ng nasabing seremonya, ang mga representante ng HWPL at DepEd Laguna – Siniloan District ay lumagda rin ng Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for peace education na sinundan ng pinning of Champions of Peace at awarding of certificates na pinangunahan ni Dr. Orlando Valverde, CID Chief of DepEd Laguna.
Dumalo rin dito sina Siniloan Mayor Rainier Leopando; Dr. Mario R. Briones, President of Laguna State Polytechnic University, Dr. Cariza A. Dacuma, Provincial Director of TESDA Laguna, Dr. Gerardo R. Marasigan, Provincial Director of TESDA Quezon, at Atty. Raul Ancheta, President of One World Foundation and Bukid ni San Pedro Calungsod.
“The objective behind establishing the peace monument in the school grounds of SINHS is when the students gather and hold the flag ceremony, the peace monument will serve as a reminder to them that they will be taking the role of peace messengers of this country,” wika ni Garces.
Sa kaniyang parte sinabi ni Dr. Cecilia Castillo, Principal of SINHS, “As the teachers, principals, and staff, we must serve as the role model in promoting justice and love, educating our students to be kind-hearted, caring, responsible, and peace-loving citizens of the nation and the world.”
Dagdag pa ni Commissioner Adamat, bukod sa 25 state universities ay kukumbinsihin din nito ang CHED na gawin din ito sa lahat ng 112 status universities and colleges.
Nagsagawa rin ng peace education training sa 11 paaralan sa Siniloan nitong nakaraang Pebrero 22 to 23 na pinnangasiwaan ng HWPL at sa susunod na buwan ng Abril ay sisimulan naman ang full implementation ng peace education sa susunod na academic year bilang bahagi ng partnership signed sa pagitan ng HWPL at DepEd Laguna – Siniloan District.
Ang HWPL Peace Education ay mayroong 12 lessons na naglalayong sanayin ang mga tagapagturo at mag-aaral ng halaga ng kapayapaan sa pamamagitan ng pagpapataas ng kamalayan sa kahalagahan ng pagpapaunlad ng kultura ng kapayapaan.
Ang naturang Peace Monument ay magsisilbing palatandaan ng kapayapaan sa mga school grounds na magiging highlight ng kanilang mga amenities.
