Coun. Pogi: ‘A Lazatin will run for mayor of Angeles’

CLARK FREEPORT — Councilor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin announced that a member of their family will run for mayor of Angeles City in 2019.

Coun. Lazatin bared this during his 49th birthday celebration at the Stotsenberg Hotel here on August 28.

“My father – Carmelo “Tarzan” Lazatin – is the barangay captain of Balibago. My brother – First District Rep. Carmelo “Jonjon” Lazatin –
is a congressman who will seek re-election. I assure you that a Lazatin will run for mayor of Angeles City next year,” said Coun.
Lazatin, eliciting applause from the audience, including 15 Angeles City Barangay Captains.

Coun. Lazatin did not categorically state it was him who will run for mayor. But talks at the well-attended celebration said “it is
definitely Pogi Lazatin who will run for mayor of Angeles City in May 2019.”

Spotted during the birthday party was former Vice Mayor Vicky Vega-Cabigting.

Also seen were Barangays Captains Rufino Candelaria of Cuayan , Francisco Cura of Pulung Cacutud , Luis de Luna of Pampang, Ric Dizon of Ninoy Aquino, Joen June Ferraris of Cutud, Rafael Bondoc of Capaya, Augusto Flores of Anunas, Rey Gueco of Malabanias, Edwin Flores of Sapang Bato , Armando Oliveros Pulung Maragul, Danilo Nacu of Sta. Trinidad, Andy Tan of Lourdest North West, Fred Bulaun of Lourdes Sur East , Alma Mercado of Tabun and Bernardo Dayrit of Lourdes Sur.

Coun. Lazatin’s father is the first three-term mayor of Angeles City.
