CLARK FREEPORT — Councilor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin announced that a member of their family will run for mayor of Angeles City in 2019.
Coun. Lazatin bared this during his 49th birthday celebration at the Stotsenberg Hotel here on August 28.
“My father – Carmelo “Tarzan” Lazatin – is the barangay captain of Balibago. My brother – First District Rep. Carmelo “Jonjon” Lazatin –
is a congressman who will seek re-election. I assure you that a Lazatin will run for mayor of Angeles City next year,” said Coun.
Lazatin, eliciting applause from the audience, including 15 Angeles City Barangay Captains.
Coun. Lazatin did not categorically state it was him who will run for mayor. But talks at the well-attended celebration said “it is
definitely Pogi Lazatin who will run for mayor of Angeles City in May 2019.”
Spotted during the birthday party was former Vice Mayor Vicky Vega-Cabigting.

Coun. Lazatin’s father is the first three-term mayor of Angeles City.
