Livestock and poultry enthusiasts from all over the country gathered at the Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center as the City Government of San Fernando opened its three-day Farm Link Expo on Friday, May 26.

Poultry and livestock enthusiasts gather during the 3rd Farm Link Expo (May 26-28) in line with the celebration of Pyestang Fernandino.

The ribbon cutting ceremony was led by Mayor Edwin ‘EdSa’ Santiago, Pyestang Fernandino 2017 chairpeson Boy Santiago and co-chair Robbie Hizon, City Agriculturist Cristina Sangumay and City Veterinarian Dr. Ryan Paul Manlapaz.

Manlapaz said nine big companies participated in this year’s largest exhibit of gamefowls, livestock, poultry, exotic animals, fancy pigeon and fancy chicken.

“We have prepared numerous activities such as sparring, cock show and raffle draw on May 27. A pigeon show will also be conducted on the 28th,” Manlapaz added.

Mayor EdSa furthered that aside from attracting tourists, the annual activity is also aimed at promoting proper breeding practices and ways of taking care of poultry animals.

“Our guest specialists will also share tips on breeding, conditioning and pointing, vaccination, nutrition, disease management and gaffing,” he added.
The activity is in line with this year’s celebration of Pyestang Fernandino 2017.
