CSF pays tribute to Nicolasa Dayrit-Panlilio

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO — Mayor Edwin “Edsa” Santiago led the wreath laying ceremony in front of the monument of Nicolasa Dayrit Panlilio in observance of her 143rd birth anniversary on September 10 at the Henson-Hizon House.

Relatives of the local heroine have also expressed their gratitude to the city government of San Fernando for continuously remembering and honoring their grandmother.

“Buong puso kaming nagpapasalamat sa Syudad San Fernando sa kanilang taon-taong pagbibigay ng halaga at pag-alala sa aming kapamilyang si Nicolasa Dayrit. Kaya naman bilang pasasalamat, ay aming itinutuloy ang kanyang magagandang nasimulan.” Vicot Panlilio said, grandson of Nicolasa Dayrit-Panlilio.

Dayrit-Panlilio is a Kapampangan heroine and known for her good deeds through helping the sick and wounded Filipino soldiers during the American colonization.

Santiago cited the importance of honoring and recognizing Nicolasa Dayrit-Panlilio’s courage and patriotism.

He also encouraged everyone especially the youth to be Nicolasa Dayrit-Panlilio in today’s generation.

“Sana ang ipinamalas na kadakilaan at pagmamalasakit sa kapwa ni Nicolasa ay ipagpatuloy ng ating mga kabataan ngayon para sa ikauunlad ng ating bayan. Lahat tayo ay maaaring maging katulad nya at ng iba pang mga bayani, basta bukal sa kalooban natin ang pagtulong sa kapwa at paggawa ng tama.” Santiago added.

Meanwhile, the winners of the On-the-Spot Poster Making contest for the Women’s Week celebration were also announced.

Isagani Antolin from San Nicolas Integrated School hailed as champion followed by Jevugnue Inaga from San Isidro Integrated School (1st place) and Rommel John Malang from Pampanga High School (2nd place).
