MABALACAT CITY – The Department of Education Mabalacat City Division has endowed recognition to the Angeles City Clark Balibago Lions Club (ACCBLC) for its continuous efforts in uplifting the youth of Mabalacat City.
Division Superintendent Dr. Ma. Irelyn Tamayo cited the projects of the organization to 40 primary and 15 secondary schools in the city. Tamayo also underscored the club’s Sight For Kids project which granted free eye screening 30,214 elementary pupils of which 791 were given prescription spectacles. ACCBLC also initiated medical missions and feeding programs to its benefactors.
“The activities of the Lions Club are in sync with the mission/vision of the Department of Education in rendering a multisectoral approach in the rearing and education of our learners,” Tamayo said.
Joining Tamayo in the Stakeholders Summit held at Grace Crown Hotel, Angeles City last November 14 was Mabalacat City Mayor Cris Garbo.
For his part, ACCBLC President Sol Flores Jr. thanked Dr. Tamayo and the division personnel for the distinction.
“Our Lions Club has always been proud to work with the DepEd at all levels and in different capacities. As we continue our decades-old partnership, we remain committed to deliver more projects for the youth of Mabalacat,” Flores emphasized.
