Fair weather seen in next 3 days due to monsoon breaks

MANILA – Fair weather will prevail across the archipelago on Monday and this would likely continue for the next three days, the weather bureau said.

“There is no low pressure area or weather disturbance inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility. What the country is experiencing now is the monsoon breaks,” weather forecaster Aldczar Aurelio of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said in the agency’s 5 a.m. weather bulletin.

He added that the ridge of the high pressure area (HPA) extending over the eastern section of Central and Southern Luzon “blocks” the southwest monsoon from entering or affecting the country.

Aurelio said that despite the monsoon breaks (or breaks in rainfall events), isolated rains caused by localized thunderstorms are still likely, especially in the afternoon or evening.

Meanwhile, light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas will prevail over the entire country. (PNA)
