Feeding program for 100 pregnant women in Pampanga, Zambales signed

Clark Freeport – The Provincial Government of Pampanga together with the Provincial Government of Zambales and the Department of Health (DOH) have signed the memorandum of agreement (MOA) for the facilitation of a feeding program, catering to 100 pregnant women.

Held at Royce Hotel, the MOA signing was led by Pampanga Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda together with DOH Secretary Paulyn Jean B. Rosell-Ubial, DOH Assistant Secretary of Health Leonita P. Gorgolon, Porac Vice Mayor Albert Dexter David, Ex-Officio Board Member Olga Frances “Fritzie” David Dizon, Mayor Napoleon Edquid of Candelaria, Zambales and Jomar Fleras, executive director of Rise Against Hunger.

The Rise Against Hunger agreed to supply and provide pre-packed supplementary meals to 100 pregnant women from Porac, Pampanga (50) and from Candelaria, Zambales (50).

According to Fleras, Rise Against Hunger has established its global meal packaging program for pregnant women and babies around the world.

Their groups were able to combine rice, soy, a dehydrated vegetable blend, and a vitamin composition including 23 essential vitamins and minerals into small meal packets for distribution to beneficiaries.

Candidates of the 65th Miss Universe Pageant also promoted the advocacy of Rise Against Hunger and even helped pack meals and lifesaving aids to show their support.

This project Rise Against Hunger is pursuant to President Rodrigo R. Duterte’s health agenda manifested in the slogan “All for health towards health for all”, in partnership with DOH to promote and provide universal health care.
