In line with the celebration of Pyestang Fernandino 2018, the City of San Fernando held annual Flores de Mayo and Mr. Body Builder on May 19, respectively.
Beauties of all generations have come together for this year’s Flores de Mayo, a Catholic tradition of giving honor to the Blessed Virgin Mary through flower offering, as candidates for Little Miss Fernandina and Mutya at Lakan ning San Fernando 2018 were joined by select senior citizens from various villages in CSF.

Mayor Edwin ‘EdSa’ Santiago, Councilor Harvey Quiwa, Pyestang Fernandino 2018 Executive Committee Chairperson Robbie Hizon with Co-Chairperson Ricardo Pineda, Jr., and Mutya at Lakan ning San Fernando 2018 Chairperson Alex Magsino join this year’s Flores de Mayo Reyna de las Flores, Miss Universe-Philippines 2018 Catriona Elisa Gray.
Fernandinos meanwhile imparted Miss Universe-Philippines 2018 Catriona Elisa Gray a warm salutation as she graced this year’s celebration as Reyna de las Flores or Queen of Flowers.
In his speech, Mayor Edwin ‘EdSa’ Santiago furthered that Flores de Mayo is a testament that CSF continuously conserves and nurtures the country’s cultures and traditions since it educates the younger generation about history.
“Feasts here in the City of San Fernando like Flores de Mayo are our way in preserving and promoting the cultures and traditions of the country and by that, we are able to educate young Fernandinos and Fernandinas about our rich history,” he said.
Organized by the City Tourism Office, Flores de Mayo took place at SM City San Fernando Downtown Cinema 3, CSF downtown streets, and Metropolitan Cathedral of San Fernando, correspondingly.
Meanwhile, the Office of the City Vice Mayor headed by Vice Mayor Jimmy Lazatin highlighted the importance of fitness and well-being through Mr. Body Builder 2018 staged at the City Hall.

The competition was divided into two (2) divisions namely Fernandino and Open (for non-Fernandinos) and each division has three categories namely Men’s Physique, Open Weight, and Bantam Weight.
