Former PAL exec now CIAC chief

CLARK FREEPORT — A long time Philippine Airlines (PAL) official on Monday assumed post as the new president of the Clark International Airport Corporation, shortly after acting Chief Excutive Officer Alex Cauguiran, who will be running for mayor in Angeles City, a vacated his post.

Reports said Jaime Melo, son of former Supreme Court Justice Jose Melo, has been directed by President Rodrigo Duterte to decongest air traffic at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).
Currently CIAC is hosting 440
flights per week (280 demoestic flights and 160 international flights) with an average of 60 flights per day and a daily average of 7,000 passengers.

As of October 15, CIAC catered at least 1,938,605 passengers.

Last August 17, 2018 CIAC received the most numbered passengers in a day with 11,742 passengers.
