GLF expects 100,000 crowd

Organizers of this year’s Giant Lantern Festival (GLF) are expecting a crowd of 100,000 during the culmination of the Ligligan Parul 2018 slated on December 15 at Robinsons’ Starmills in the City of San Fernando.

GLF 2018 Executive Committee Chair Alex Patio said during a press conference held at the city hall that the venue for the competition can accomodate up to 100,000 people. The committee, he added, prepared 10,000 chairs to accommodate early goers.

For the parking area, Patio said 300 slots are reserved for VIPs and other guests. The committee also coordinated with transportation groups to man the traffic.

For his part, GLF Committee on Security chair Marni Castro reminded the public that drones and backpacks are strictly prohibited inside the competition area.
