Go opens 1st Malasakit Center in City of Malolos

Special Assistant to the President (SAP) Christopher Lawrence ‘Bong’ Go and Bulacan local officials led the opening of the first “Malasakit Center” based in Bulacan Medical Center in the City of Malolos on Tuesday.
The center is a program of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte administration aimed and serving as a ‘one-stop shop’ medical center to hasten the delivery of medical services and give access to free medicines for poor patients.

The launching of the Malasakit Center was graced by Go with the local officials of Bulacan headed by Governor Wilhelmino Sy-Alvarado, Vice Governor Daniel Fernando and First District Congressman Jonathan Sy-Alvarado where the top presidential aide urged patients and their families to avail of the program.

Go said that patients particularly indigents confined at the Bulacan Medical can avail of the medical assistance from various government agencies such as the Department of Health (DOH), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Philippine Health Insurance (PhilHealth) Corporation, Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO), Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (Pagcor), among others, which aims to help beneficiaries have a “zero balance” on their medical expenses.

Go also turned over the P10-million medical assistance to the Bulacan Malasakit Center wherein Alvarado and the rest of the provincial government employees expressed their gratitude for the help.

“Dont thank me, it is the taxes paid to the government, These are your funds, these are government funds which President Duterte returns to you, ” Go said.

He was also impressed with the facilities of the Bulacan Medical Center and lauded Alvarado after he visited its dialysis center because the government fund of the province was properly used.

The launch in Bulacan was the fifth in Central Luzon and 18th all over the country. –ELOISA SILVERIO
