Hermosa dance group wins Pawikan Festival Dance Competion

MORONG, Bataan – The municipality of Hermosa’s dance group bagged the 1st prize of the Pawikan Festival 2018’s Provincial Festival Dance Competion last Sunday/

This was revealed by Hermosa first lady and Clark International Airport Corporation CIAC Director, Atty. Anne Adorable- Inton in her Facebook post yesterday.

“Isang masayang regalo ito sa aking kaarawan,” Atty. Anne Inton said.

The Hermosa dance team received a Certificate of Recognition and P100,000 cash from the organizers composed of the Provincial Government of Bataan, the Municipal Government of Morong and the Bataan Peninsula Tourism Council Inc.

Meanwhile, other winners in the Provincial Category were: 3rd place – Pilar who won a cash prize worth P50,000 and the 2nd placer, Balanga City team with cash prize worth P70,000.

The winners in the street dancing competition in the Regional Category are 3rd place – Tarlac with a cash prize worth P100,000; 2nd place – Zambales who took home cash prize worth P200,000 and the champion – the Province of Bataan that bagged the cash prize worth P260,000.

The week-long celebration of the Pawikan (sea turtles) Festival is annually highlighted by a ceremonial releasing of Pawikan hatchlings in the blue waters off South China Sea , street dancing competition where participants are dressed gaudily in turtle-like clothing, walk for a cause, trade fair, beach volleyball, graffiti painting contest, sand castling contest, coastal clean-up project, seminars and other activities.

It was organized to intensify the information campaign and generate public awareness on the importance of endangered baby Olive Ridley sea turtles.
