Hermosa LGU allots P12M for CCTV cameras

HERMOSA, Bataan- The Municipal Government of Hermosa led by Mayor Jopet R. Inton has allotted P12 million for the installation of closed circuit television cameras (CCTV) in strategic areas in various barangays or villages.

This was revealed in a recent media briefings at the municipal hall.

“The CCTV cameras will be initially installed in our major roads from Barangay Palihan to Barangay Mabuco,” Executive Assistant and former municipal councilor Rex Jorge told newsmen.

Recently, Atty. Ariel Inton, Hermosa town’s municipal administrator, reminded business owners here that they are now required to install closed circuit television (CCTV) system in their establishments.

Atty. Inton said that since 2015, a Municipal Ordinance (2015-002) mandates business establishments in Hermosa to install CCTV systems.
“Nagkaroon ng security survey ang ating kapulisan at lumalabas na maraming business establishments ang hindi sumusunod sa Ordinansa requiring the installation of CCTV system,” Atty. Inton pointed out.
Inton said that one of the primary advantages of having CCTV systems is that it acts as a crime deterrent.

“This leads to another advantage of CCTV – increased safety. Increased safety for their employees and their customers is likely a top priority, and having CCTV cameras can help achieve that,” the official said.
