The Municipal Government of Lubao was conferred with the ‘Best Practice Award on Ecological Solid Waste Management’ during the 445th ‘Aldo Ning Kapampangan’ celebration.
Lubao Mayor Mylyn Pineda Cayabyab received the plaque of recognition from Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda.
Pineda also awarded a brand new Foton truck to the municipal officials of Lubao as an incentive.
The truck will be used for the collection, transfer and transport of garbage in every barangay to the municipal Material Recovery Facility.
Provincial Government Enviroment and Natural Resources Officer (PG-ENRO) Arthur Punsalan said Lubao has set an exemplary efforts on solid waste reduction, collection and sanitary disposal at the municipal MRF, now a model facility in the province.
Lubao is one of the first local government units (LGUs) in Pampanga province that complied with the Republic Act of 9003 or the “Ecological Solid Waste Management Act of 2000.”
Pineda lauded Lubao officials for prioritizing programs that will promote environmental protection such as proper waste management.
