MNTC temporarily stops roadworks along expressways on Nov. 1

The Manila North Tollways Management Corporation assured the traveling public of zero roadworks this coming All Saints’ Day.

Glenn Campos, MNTC Assistant Vice President for Traffic and Operations Management, said there will be no roadworks at the North Luzon Expressway, Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway and Cavite Expressway from October 27 to November 3.

The zero roadworks is part of MNTC’s “Safe Trip Mo, Sagot Ko (SMSK) 2016” motorist assistance program.

Campos said patrol crew assistance presence will also be enhanced from October 28 to November 1. He added that there will be free towing services for Class 1 vehicles from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. during the holidays.

For NLEx and SCTEx, Campos said there will be a 24/7 mechanic service and first aid stations in all tollway service facilities. Other services include information and help desks in fuel stations, free calls and wifi connection provided by Smart telecommunications and free bottled drinking water from Maynilad.

For Cavitex, Campos said there will be first aid and mechanic service at Parañaque and Kawit Motorist Camps and water reservoirs to serve vehicles in need.

NLEx has an average traffic volume of 218,000 vehicles per day while SCTEx has a volume of 45,000 per day and Cavitex, 120,000 volume per day.

Campos said MNTC is directly coordinating with the Traffic Regulatory Board in implementing guidelines on efficient traffic management.

“We will also implement TRB’s campaign on road safety during peak seasons,” Campos said.

MNTC operates the 90-kilometer NLEX and the 94-kilometer SCTEX.
