More ‘bleisure’ travels shaping up in Clark

CLARK FREEPORT – ‘Bleisure’ travel is becoming a trend here as more accommodation facilities continuously encourage business and leisure travelers to visit this Freeport.

In a recent interview at Clark in Action (CIA), a public affairs radio program of Clark Development Corporation (CDC), Hilton Clark Commercial Director Francis David said that one of their emerging target markets are those individuals who tries to incorporate business and vacation activities in their stay here.

“We have visitors who are traveling for business and those who do essential travels. They also do bleisure or what they call business and leisure travel here,” he said.

‘Bleisure travelling’ is popular among hotels in Clark as this gave opportunities for businessmen and career-driven individuals to try and stay in world class accommodation facilities while working.

Meanwhile, David also encouraged guests and visitors to try domestic travel.

He mentioned that this Freeport’s accessibility allows other guests to experience a staycation in the Freeport.

“Since airports don’t accept leisure travel, let’s go domestic. Clark is very accessible if you’re driving either to Metro Manila or other parts of Luzon,” he added.

David said that Hilton Hotel Clark, which opened on December 30 last year, is ready to accommodate guests in their 308 rooms complemented by modern amenities.

“We invite everyone to visit Hilton Clark Sun Valley Resort. We have rooms, restaurants, as well as function rooms and banquet spaces. You are very much welcome here,” he said.

Due to its proximity to other major cities, connectivity to other countries via the Clark International Airport, and its state-of-the-art accommodation facilities and attractions, this Freeport has also become a favorite destination among local tourists from across the region.

In its 2020 Annual Report, CDC reported that there were 1,247,862 tourist arrivals last year, exhibiting favorable visitors’ confidence in this Freeport. Aside from this, CDC – Tourism Promotions Division (TPD) cited that a total of 753,475 overnight and same day visitors were also recorded in the same year.

True to its thrust to become a MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) destination, CDC also recorded a total of 4,351 participants in 177 MICE events conducted in this Freeport as of January 14, 2021.

Accredited hotels in the Freeport also played a significant role in the nation’s fight against COVID-19. A total of 78,780 repatriates were assisted and given accommodation in accredited hotels in the Freeport.

Apart from showcasing itself as a premier and tourism destination, Clark is also acknowledged as the ultimate Sports Tourism Destination for 2015, 2018, and 2019 by the Philippine Sports Tourism Awards.
