Slow-moving vehicle drivers asked to keep right

Drivers and motorists plying the Roman Superhighway in Bataan are now being reminded to drive in the right-hand lane, except for when overtaking, making a left turn at an intersection, or avoiding a road obstacle.

This is in accordance with the Provincial Ordinance no. 21 or the “Keep Right Except to Overtake Ordinance” passed by the Bataan Provincial Board and now being enforced by the Metro Bataan Development Authority (MBDA) along the highway.

The said ordinance was authored and sponsored by Board Member Romano L. “Popoy” Del Rosario and co-authored by Board Member Antonino B. Roman III.

Drivers who violate the ordinance will be fined the following amounts: PHP 500.00 for the first offense, PHP 1,000.00 for the second offense, and PHP 2,500.00 for the third offense.

Bataan Governor Jose Enrique “Joet” Garcia III through his Official Facebook Page on Saturday, posted a message requesting cooperation from all drivers, emphasizing the importance of road safety and reminding everyone to be cautious at all times to prevent accidents.
