Tarlac State U joins commemoration of Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War

TARLAC CITY — Approximately 1,500 students from different colleges of Tarlac State University (TSU) recently joined the Commemoration of the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War (DPCW).

The activity was held in partnership with Heavenly Culture, World Peace and Restoration of Light (HWPL), a non-governmental and non-profit organization associated with the United Nations Economic and Social Council.

It featured a Peace Parade, Peace Message, Balloon Letting, and Chalk Art.

“This was a great opportunity for TSU to be part of this global movement to represent our nation who creates peace and spreads the culture of peace,” TSU Vice President for International Linkages and External Affairs Louella Ona said.

DPCW was proclaimed by HWPL on March 14, 2016 in South Korea as a solution for establishing global peace, resolving conflicts and leave a legacy of lasting peace to future generations.

This year’s commemoration carries the theme “The Call for Building a World of Peace and Realization of Justice.” (CLJD/CJVF-PIA 3)
