5 dead in Bataan road crash

UPDATED 2:04 a.m. March 20, 2019) Tuesday road crash kills five FIVE persons died while others were injured in a road crash involving three vehicles that transpired, Tuesday afternoon (March 19), in Roman Expressway, Barangay Calaylayan, Abucay, Bataan.

According to a report from the local police here led by Police Senior Inspector Jen Cruz, the victims who died were identified as Ronnie Benavidez, 52, Blanca Mendoza, 30, and Annalyn Benavidez, 48 years old.

Meanwhile, Romeo Mendoza 70, the driver of the ill-fated Mitsubishi Mirage and Carlyn Mendoza, 10, who were both in critical condition as of press time yesterday, also died later.

Another child, Renz Balladores, 2 years old and Roxanne Benavidez 21 were also injured.

All the victims were residents of Barangay Landing, Limay, Bataan. Initial investigation revealed that the car allegedly, suddenly overtook a truck and lost control and was hit by an incoming oil tanker truck from opposite direction.

The victims were all rushed to Bataan General Hospital in Balanga City.
