Village chief, 2 tanods nabbed for illegal drugs in Bulacan

A village chief running for re-election this May 14 Barangay and SK elections and his two tanods were arrested in anti-illegal drugs operation in Brgy. Malhacan, Meycauayan City on Monday.

P/Sr. Supt. Romeo Caramat Jr., Bulacan provincial director identified the arrested persons as Malhacan Brgy. Chairman Delfin San Pablo, Ferdinand Llaosa and Jimmy Garcia, both barangay tanods. The three are all residents of Barangay Malhacan.

Confiscated from the suspects were five sachets of suspected shabu weighing 14.9 grams with street value of more or less P66,000, a caliber .45 Norinco pistol loaded with seven ammunitions and illegal drugs paraphernalia.

Charges for Violation of Section 5 and Section 11 Article II of RA 9165 as Amended by RA 10640, RA 10591 Illegal Possession of Firearms and Omnibus Election Code ‘Gunban’ are already filed against the arrested suspects.
