Capitol to distribute P75 M worth of rice to indigent Kapampangans

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga (PIA) — The provincial government is set to purchase about PhP75 million worth of rice intended for indigent Kapampangans severely affected by the ongoing Enhanced Community Quarantine.

“We have to prioritize and subsidize the need of the indigent Kapampangans like the displaced workers, solo parents, transport group, minimum wage earners, job order employees and scavengers,” Governor Dennis Pineda said.

He also asked all Kapampangans who have more than enough supply of goods to also share assistance to the less fortunate ones.

“To our well-off cabalens, we will really be needing your assistance in today’s time of calamity. If you can at least adopt and support a family, please do so,” the governor appealed.

ECQ, meant to curb the rising number of cases of coronavirus disease, will be implemented in the entire Luzon from March 17 to April 13.
