Bataan LGUs pass 2019 Good Financial Housekeeping

BALANGA CITY — Local government units (LGUs) in Bataan passed the 2019 Good Financial Housekeeping (GFH) of Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).

Passers include the provincial government and city government of Balanga as well as the municipal governments of Dinalupihan, Hermosa, Orani, Samal, Abucay, Pilar, Orion, Bagac, Morong, and Mariveles.

Limay is the only municipality that failed to meet the GFH criteria.

“LGUs were assessed on good planning, sound fiscal management, transparency and accountability, and valuing of performance information,” DILG Provincial Director Myra Moral-Soriano explained.

“The GFH assesses how well the LGU complies with set accounting and auditing standards, rules and regulations. It also elevates the practice of governance that values transparency, accountability, participation and performance,” Soriano added.

In 2018, Bataan garnered a 100 percent passing rate for the award. GFH is one of the requirements for Seal of Good Local Governance.
