Delta to public utility companies: ‘No disconnection please!’

Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda asked the public utility providers in the province to halt cutting of electric power, water, telephone connections, and any other essential public utilities until the end of the enhanced community quarantine placed over the entire Luzon.

“Naglabas po ako ng executive order na nagbabawal ng paniningil at pagpuputol habang kasalukuyan tayong nasa ilalim ng quarantine. Ang mga serbisyo na kagaya ng water, electricity, internet, at iba pa ay dapat pa ring magpatuloy,” Governor Delta said.

It is stated under the Ordinance No. 755 Series of 2020, in accordance to Resolution No. 6102, that “cutting or disconnection of electric power, water, telephone connections, and other essential public utilities by any person, entities, or public utility companies during the duration or period of the state of public health emergency, state of calamity, and enhanced community quarantine is prohibited.”

Governor Delta also warned that companies found to have been violating the said order will be penalized or given proper sanctions.

“Mayroong kaukulang parusa para sa mga namu-mwersang maningil at magputol ng serbisyo sa ating mga kababayan, we will file a case against them,” he stressed.
