NCCA urges Bataeños to uplift arts, culture

BALANGA CITY — National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) is urging Bataeños to submit project proposals that would preserve, develop, and promote arts and culture in the province.

Bataan Provincial Tourism Office hosted Tuesday an orientation on writing proposals for the 2019 NCCA Competitive Grants Program joined by local art groups, cultural mappers, and other stakeholders.

“We are very fortunate that NCCA visited us to deliver their programs. This is their way of giving us technical assistance for us to prepare submission of project proposals for their 2019 program,” Provincial Tourism Office Head Christina Banzon-Enriquez said.

The orientation highlighted guidelines and requirements that the proponents should submit prior to the approval of project requests.

NCCA is accepting project proposals from civil society organizations, peoples’ organizations, indigenous peoples organizations, individuals, local government units, national government agencies, state universities and colleges and public schools.

NCCA Luzon Cluster Head Ferdinand Isleta said proponents may submit only one proposal for their ideal project that would develop arts groups, festivals, culture and heritage.

“Projects are categorized per Subcommission namely Arts, Cultural Communities and Traditional Arts, Cultural Dissemination, and Cultural Heritage where each requires different qualifications and criteria,” Isleta stressed.

Islata also explained the limitations of grants available, amount of support, criteria for evaluation, requirements and expected deliverables for the project under each subcommission.

For more information, those interested may contact NCCA through direct line (02) 522-2084 or via email address at [email protected], or [email protected].

NCCA will accept proposals until July 31, 2018.
