ANGELES CITY — A suspected street peddler of marijuana was arrested by lawmen during buy bust along New York Street, Villasol Subdivision, Barangay Anunas in this city over the weekend as campaign against illegal drugs intensified.
Police Colonel Joyce Patrick Sangalang, officer-in-charge of Angeles City Police Office (ACPO) identified the suspect as Gabriel Angelo Carino, 22, of Xevera Subdivision, mabalacat City. He said the suspect did not resist arrest.
Sangalang said Carino is included in the list of high value target (HVT) personalities for alleged involvement in the distribution of “cannabis” in Angeles and nearby Mabalacat City areas.
The city director added that the suspect agreed to meet with the poseur buyer after they close deal for quantitative amount of cannabis.Four bricks of marijuana weighing two kilos with a street value of P100,000 was recovered in his possession when policemen subjected his bag to further check.
Marijuana in brick form originated in the Mountain Province. Members of illegal drugs gang sneaked the contraband into the city with local contacts, according to the police.
Sangalang directed all police units in Angeles to accelerate the campaign against illegal drugs including marijuana and methamphetamine hydrochloride, the most abuse substance, to lessen if not totally stop, the supply of prohibited drugs on the streets.
The suspect was brought to Station 4 Headquarters for further investigation as violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Acr is being readied against him.
