ANGELES CITY – Two nurses who cared for a COVID-19 patient in a hospital here have contracted the dreaded virus.
In a message of Angeles Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. on the Facebook Page of the Angeles City Information Office, he said the two nurses are now being cared for in the same hospital. The patient they attended to who is a non-resident of Angeles City already died.
Lazatin said the immediate families of the two nurses are currently under a 14-day quarantine while their houses were also disinfected. The two nurses are currently in stable condition.
“Ikinalulungkot ko pong ibalita na lima na po ang confirmed COVID-19 positive cases natin. Ang dalawa pong bago na nagpositibo ay kabilang sa hanay ng mga health workers. Sila pong dalawa ngayon ay naka admit sa isang hospital. Stable at maayos po ang kanilang kalagayan. Ang kanilang pamilya naman po ay naka quarantine na po,” said Lazatin.
“Ekayu pu migaganaka uning gewa tanapu ing kailangan gawan base king protocol ning Department of Health. Mig disinfect tana pu karetang pamibale bale da at gagawan tanapu ing contact tracing” according to Lazatin.
“Sa tatlong naunang COVID-19 positive natin dito sa syudad, dalawa po ay sumakabilang buhay na at ang isa naman po ay masaya kong ibinabalita na nakarecover na po. Masaya tamupu uning meka recover ya ing kekatamung memalen keti siyudad Angeles. Patune mu pu na reng kekataming magiting a frontliners ela tutuknang manulu ampong mag monitor kareng kekatamung PUMs, PUIs at kareng linto positibu,” said Lazatin.
Lazatin has encouraged Angelenos “not to panic” because the city government was doing all it can to contain the contagion. “Lalo po tayong naghigpit sa ating mga checkpoints,” said Lazatin.
He said personal protective equipment were already distributed to private hospitals and the Rafael Lazatin Memorial Medical Center or ONA to protect the welfare of health workers. He encouraged the residents to stay at home or wear facemasks if they will buy basic necessities from the groceries.
